Getting to Know Grace Baptist Church

More Than Just a Name

Grace Baptist Church is a body of believers who have been transformed by the grace of God for the glory of God.  It is our desire that Jesus Christ is glorified as Head over all that we do as we seek to be conformed to His image in all that we are.  For that to happen, we realize that our fundamental commitment must be to the gospel of Jesus Christ in every aspect of the church--from the worship to the structures of the church to how we relate to one another.  The gospel of sovereign grace is not only the means by which we are saved but the manner by which we live our lives.  Indeed, were it not for the grace of God which has come to us in Jesus Christ, we would not be who we are.

Grace Baptist Church is a simple church with a singular message.  We don't have a categorical list of programs or a busy calendar full of activities.  It is our desire to major on what God has revealed to be most important and to do those things with excellence.  For instance, God is big on the preaching of the gospel and teaching the whole counsel of the Word.  God also emphasizes unity and diversity within the body.  These and other core values are laid out in our core distinctives with greater detail.

Not only do we seek to be a gospel-centered church, but we are also committed to being a confessional church--that is, we seek to corporately confess truths that unite us in doctrinal affirmation.  On the other hand, we are a covenantal church, uniting in a devotional commitment to one another and to God.  Finally, Grace is a missional church--meaning that are embracing the mission Jesus has entrusted to us to make disciples of all peoples and seeing churches planted, strengthened, and experiencing continued reformaion under the headship and supremacy of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel

When Jesus asked the question, "Who do you say that I am?" He was asking a question that we all have to answer. As Christians, we have one message to believe and one message to tell--the gospel of Jesus Christ. What God has accomplished for sinners through His Son Jesus Christ in His life, death, and resurrection is not only central to who we are but sufficient for all that we do. If you have never heard of this gospel, we encourage you to consider the two ways to live. In this presentation, you will understand who God is, what He has done, and why it is absolutely necessary for you to turn to Jesus and trust in Him.
