One year ago today Jared Longshore began serving as Associate Pastor of Grace Baptist Church. He and Heather, together with their 4 precious children, have been a great gift to us.

Jared jumped into the work at full speed. The last year has been one of the more eventful and challenging ones  in the life of Grace and we have seen the Lord work among us in wonderful ways. He has used Jared significantly in and through that work.

Jared’s devotion to Christ is contagious. He obviously has drawn deeply from the subject of his PhD dissertation, John Dagg, whose duty to love God permeates all of his theology (that’s the particular thesis on which Jared is focusing). Jared has been greatly used of God among us as he leads his family, preaches, teaches, counsels, encourages discipleship and evangelism and serves as an elder.

On a personal note, I am deeply grateful for his example of godliness, humility, integrity and diligence as I serve beside him in the the work of the gospel. Join me in thanking the Lord for him and Heather and pray for him as he wraps up his work in completing his PhD studies at Southern Seminary.
